AFC Wimbledon

We are immensely proud to have Sports Turf Limited as our grounds management partner. Having worked with STL on our training ground for three years and at the Stadium for the past two, we've seen huge improvements across both venues — recognised most recently in the award of a long-term contract.

The team are professional, reliable and clearly take great pride in maintaining the surfaces to a very high standard. They fully buy into the values of the club, through constant improvement and teamwork to provide the best possible surfaces for our team to play on.

Their attention to detail and understanding of the demands placed on football pitches has been excellent, and they're always responsive and willing to go the extra mile to ensure the pitches are in the best possible condition.

As a multi-sports venue — hosting men's, women's and UEFA football matches, including Chelsea Ladies' Champions League fixtures, as well as rugby league and American football throughout the year — the Stadium places huge demands on the surface. Sports Turf Limited understands this and consistently delivers as our professional pitch maintenance partner.

Surbiton Racket & Fitness Club

Sports Turf Limited (Nick and his team) started maintaining our 12 grass courts and grounds in March 2022. Surbiton Racket and Fitness Club is home of the Surbiton Trophy, an international professional grass tennis tournament and a highly regarded tournament on the challenger circuit — the opening grass court event of the grass court season, which always attracts a high calibre of top players.

Nick's team are full time at the club and he provides a large grounds team of 12 additional staff to manage the Surbiton Trophy, both setting up the event and managing the grass courts and overall grounds throughout the tournament. This is a highly demanding event at the highest of levels, with inflatable covers and centre court televised live on BBC. The grass courts have to be at the very highest level of fine turf surfaces to accommodate the standard of tennis throughout the tournament, with a tight budget and really tough conditions compared to other more elite venues, but the same demands on quality. Nick and his team deliver the event and playing surface at the highest level with amazing gratitude and professionalism throughout the setup, tournament week and de-rig.

I have been very happy with Nick and his team's professional and dedicated approach to our club, and his knowledge and expertise is invaluable. We are delighted to have Sports Turf Limited as our team looking after our grounds, and we look forward to working with them on a long-term basis.

Guildford Cricket Club

Sports Turf Limited were selected as our groundskeeping contractor following an intensive recruitment process led by the head groundsman at the Oval. Nick and his team have been outstanding, and they have made significant improvements to our playing surfaces. They have also continued to build valuable links with Surrey.

One of their real strengths is the ability to provide a large, qualified team of ground staff. This has allowed us to host Surrey first team fixtures as well as women's and academy fixtures, and to stage an England U18s ODI fixture in the 2026 season. That was a significant achievement for both Sports Turf Limited and Guildford Cricket Club.

They have recently been offered a long-term extension. Everyone at the club is pleased to have them, and we look forward to working with them for the foreseeable future.

Reigate Grammar School, Reigate St Mary's & Chinthurst School

Sports Turf Limited looks after the grounds at all three of our school sites (Reigate St Mary's, Chinthurst School and Reigate Grammar School) under long-term maintenance contracts. Their work covers the general school grounds as well as our sports grounds, and they have made significant improvements to our sports surfaces.

They also provide ad hoc works at Hartswood, our off-site sports ground, including regular spraying and end-of-season renovations to the cricket squares.

Nick's experience at the highest level of sport has been invaluable to us at every venue, and we would happily recommend Sports Turf Limited to other schools and clubs.

Elmbridge Xcel Leisure Complex & Sports Hub

Sports Turf Limited were taken on after we had been let down by another contractor. They came highly recommended from within our company contractor profile from other leisure venues they maintain for our company; our company has strict health & safety and vetting procedures to pass before contractors can become authorised on our internal system.

Excel leisure centre is a large site offering athletics, hammer throwing, shot put, discus and javelin on the grass, as well as an all-weather full size athletics track. On top of that we offer football for the local football club (Walton and Hersham), both grass pitches and 4G pitches — a massive layout of different pitches ranging from 5-a-side to 11-a-side, all ages, and a very complicated marking programme which includes four different colours for marking.

Sports Turf Limited have been professional and accommodating with their approach. Nick's superior knowledge and experience dealing with multi-sports surfaces and venues has been invaluable, his team's professional approach has been outstanding, and the difference in the service and the quality of the pitches within two months has been astonishing. The robot line marker they use has been amazing, and we cannot believe the difference in quality. We could not recommend their services enough — very professional and an outstanding team.

East Molesey Cricket Club

East Molesey Cricket Club are very grateful to Nick and his team for the 9 years of service they provided us. During the 9 years our ground became known for being one of the best kept grounds in the south of England, improving our playing surfaces and delivering top class wickets, allowing us to win back to back Surrey Championship Premier Division league titles in 2020 and 2021. Their personable yet professional approach makes them a company I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone in the future looking for a professional contractor team to help them with their ground or venue.

Cobham FC

We started our working relationship with Nick some 8 years ago and it's been a pleasure to work with him. When we began our partnership our pitch was not in great shape and it took a very comprehensive year by year plan to improve the surface. First steps recommended were a high pressured irrigation system which Nick sourced and helped install; this was then further upgraded to a self-travelling system in year two. This was the start of the huge improvements that Nick and his team made. With his high quality machinery and a very comprehensive maintenance package, after a renovation our pitch soon developed from being one of the worst in the league to being one of the best in the league — the transformation was incredible. His knowledge of the grass plant, the advice he provides, and the detail he delivers his work in is impeccable, and we have been privileged to have him looking after our pitches at Cobham FC (both main pitch and juniors).

Battersea Ironsides Sports Ground

Here at Battersea we have a multi-sports venue, offering football and rugby over the winter months and then becoming a cricket ground for the summer. We had a previous contractor that really let us down, and we spoke with many other venues for recommendations — Nick and his team came highly recommended from within the sporting circle.

Over the winter the grounds become heavily worn and there is a very large renovation required at the end of the rugby/football season to get the outfield up to a playable standard for the cricket. Nick has come up with a very comprehensive maintenance package for a year's maintenance including the large renovation moving into cricket season. He provides a very detailed contract for both parties and sticks to all the elements, delivering the works on time. Nick has a great team and really good equipment for his maintenance and renovations. We are on to their second season working with us and the grounds have really improved for all the sports. They are a very reliable and hard-working company with a great company ethos — we could not recommend them more highly.

Walton on Thames Cricket Club

Over the last seven years, Nick and their team have done a great job in managing our ground services requirements. The quality of the cricket square and the outfield at Ashley Park have continued to improve under Nick's expert guidance and we are now looking for Sports Turf to apply the same commitment and expertise to a new facility that will soon become a second ground. The attitude is always positive, and Nick combines a willingness to sort problems with advice and suggestions on how to best manage situations going forward. Nick and his team have built good working relationships with the membership and play an important part in the club's future development and success. Thank you and long may it continue.

Weir Archer Athletics & Fitness Centre

Sports Turf Limited have been providing us with several services since early 2019. Initially this ranged from spraying applications, both grass and hard surfaces, and work on our grass football pitch (aeration, feeding, scarifying, top dressing and seeding).

Only specific companies can work for our company as we have very strict health and safety policies and a strong vetting process to become one of our approved contractors, so it's testament to their quality that they are approved to work at our sites. They have now become our main outdoor contractor: mowing and strimming all grassed areas on an annual contract, general maintenance like paving and fence repair, equipment servicing and repair, and any other work we might need. They even built a large shed for disability cycles and project planned and completed the groundworks for the relocation of our hammer cage throwing area to remove the wear from our football pitch.

During this time, we have worked closely with Nick and the team to improve our site's income on the grass pitch and general improvements to the site's appearance. We would highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a reliable quality contractor.

Reeds School & Ripley Court School

Sports Turf Limited (Nick) has taken on our spraying works for both our Reeds School sports grounds and our Ripley Court school sports ground. Sports Turf Ltd spray our Reeds School sports fields (6 hectares) twice per year and also Ripley Court school twice per year (3.6 hectares). We use a mixture of weedkiller, wetting agent, bio stimulants and worm suppressant to match our yearly maintenance schedule for both sites.

Nick is punctual and always very accommodating around busy school schedules, as we often have to change initial booked dates due to changing fixture schedules and poor weather conditions. He always accommodates any changes and delivers on time within the tight windows we demand. He is professional, has great communication and provides modern equipment to complete the works. I could not recommend his services more highly.

Southern Sports Ground Services

Nick (Sports Turf Limited) has become our main contractor for all tractor spraying applications at our sports grounds over the last 3 years. We are also a sports maintenance contractor and were looking for a reliable company to take on our pre-season and in-season spraying applications. Nick now sprays 4 of our grounds twice per year, which consists of a pre-season weed and feed application and a worm and iron treatment moving into winter. He is reliable and the results are fantastic. He uses a very modern sprayer and is much better value for money, and most importantly the quality of the results are superior compared to other spraying contractors we have tried. I could not recommend Sports Turf Limited enough.

Teddington Town Cricket Club

Nick and his team did an excellent job when they undertook the end of season renovation works on our cricket square. From deep scarifying, seeding and top dressing, everything was carried out very professionally, and the square is now looking in top condition (early November). Communication was very good, and we were never left wondering when the work was going to start. We will definitely use them again — they are a huge step above previous contractors we have used.
